Personally, my four E's changed a lot. I had trouble finding a explore, or something the kids can do, that seemed interesting and dynamic. I actually started with a whole different topic and ended up changing it because I wasn't happy with it. I started off with refraction and ended up doing optical illusions. For the engage I did something called the rubber hand illusion which tricks the participant into believing that a rubber hand is theirs by manipulating how they perceive their senses. Then I had them draw their hands in a way that curved the lines and made it look like it was popping our of the page. After they did that, they could roll it up, put it up to their eye, and place their hand in a way that made it look like their other hand had a hole in it. After this I explained why these and other illusions work to the kids. Lastly I evaluated them by simply asking questions about what I taught them to see how much they retained. |
