My biggest hope for junior year is to establish learning habits to help me for the rest of my educational career. Junior year is infamous for the heightened workload as well as expectations to be a professional. Not only this, but this is the year that can easily make or break things for colleges and greatly impact your future based on what you put into it. I want to grow this year and take this year to my advantage to further myself as a student.
Junior year has been memorable in so many ways. I have formed a stronger bond, faster than I ever had with both of my teachers. They are both incredibly strong and intelligent women that I not only look up to, but I can see myself in as a mexican woman. This year has been filled to the brim with love and support and I have grown meaningful connections with so many people through laughter as well as tears.
I have matured a lot as a student this year. I have always been someone who works hard for the grades they get, but I had gotten very used to a 4.0, that I began to see myself as entitled to it. This year has definitely been a more intense workload than ever, but it is by no means unreasonable. The work we receive is educational and meaningful. I have come to the double edged sword understanding that I am 100% responsible for my grade. If I am staying up to ungodly hours and struggling with the workload, chances are, it’s not because they gave us too much work, it’s because I waited until the last minute to do it. I could sit around and complain that I get too much work because I’m studying everyday or having to pull all-nighters, but it is my decision to either get all my work done in three or six hours. I am in a well balanced class where we are pushed, but not unreasonably dogged down with work, so my grade and stress levels are in my hands.
